Infant dies in Shawnee household fire early Sunday morning

Shawnee Fireplace officials confirm an infant died in a house hearth early Sunday early morning in close proximity to 69th Street and Larsen Lane.

Many 911 phone calls from neighbors alerted police and firefighters about 12:50 Sunday early morning.

Shawnee, Overland Park and Consolidated Fire District No. 2 firefighters were called to the house at 10502 West 69th Terrace.

Recorded radio targeted traffic from Shawnee police indicates that the dwelling was engulfed in flames when officers arrived.

Officers alerted neighbors to the fire and briefly evacuated people promptly next doorway.

Firefighters attacked the fire for about 20 minutes from the exterior until eventually they had knocked down more than enough of the flames that it was risk-free for them to enter and commence seeking for everyone continue to inside of.
